Sweet Machine Funds Appeal
My name is Clifton Young, AKA LION HEART. I’ve been hand boiling and hand cutting an all-natural sweet which is called JAMAICAN BOSTA since the late 90s. Despite its increasing popularity, I find it difficult to supply the demand for my sweet because, due to a lack of funds, I don’t have adequate machinery and/or factory space. Estimated cost inclusive of machinery, rent, wages and other miscellaneous expenses approximates £100,000. More precisions about the machine itself are outlined below.
Method of Operation:
A batch of sweet mixture would be manually loaded into the hopper. The hopper would consist of a non-stick lined box with a large hole in the top and a conveyor belt for the base. The mixture would be manually pressed down into the corners. A roller would then be passed over the top of the hopper to press the mixture into the correct shape.
The hopper and roller would then be cooled using chilled water.
The end of the hopper would be moveable longitudinally and it would act as a gate. This would allow the machine to be used with a part-batch and the gate could be raised to allow the slab to be moved onto the next processing element.
The slab would then be passed through slitting rollers and then through a blade device to create the 2nd cut.
The machine will be constructed from stainless steel and all components, including motors, will be washable.

The machine will be fully guarded, electrically tested and CE marked.
